Joseph Di Lella

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
During my career I have been a university and public school teacher and writer – both jobs I have loved throughout my adult life.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The Tao of Spock is my latest completed book.
As a former pitch artist for the TV series, Star Trek: Enterprise, I had started my Tao of Star Trek book series (four completed to date) and wanted to add one final book to the collection.
In the original series, Mr. Spock is the ‘perfect’ Vulcan with impeccable logic in the worst of crises. Still how does he use the wisdom of Surak and Lao Tzu to make life and death decisions for his crew on the Enterprise?
This book attempts to show how the young officer in stories found TOS and Strange New Worlds illustrates his behavior.
Additionally, the book explore T’Pol’s time on the Enterprise with Captain Archer, too, as she was the first regularly stationed Vulcan on a starship in Federation history.
Lastly, my love for Star Trek as a storytelling device for a future world of hope inspired me each and every day – as I hope this book does for you, my friends.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Not really – just to write daily and intensely – a habit I recommend to all beginning and seasoned scribes.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Bradbury, Ellison, King

What are you working on now?
A new non-fiction book on LOST – an amazing science fiction/fantasy TV series that started 20 years ago. I hope that the competed project will remind readers of just how genre-breaking and interesting a story it was for television viewers at that time.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I promote my books on Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, and other book promotion sites.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write what you love – and the rest comes naturally.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Never give up on your dreams!

How to write books!

What’s next for you as a writer?
To write what inspires others – whether it rests in sports, academics or popular culture.

Too many to mention by name, but The Adventures of Tom Sawyer still resonates as wonderful writing to me.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Hello, I’m Dippy, a budding writer with a background in medical profession and a fervent love for storytelling. After crafting numerous rough drafts, I’ve taken the leap to publish my debut novel, “Drown in Colors of You.” It’s the culmination of my unwavering dedication, passion, and tireless effort. I’m excited to embark on this writing journey and eagerly anticipate creating more stories in the future.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
I recently released “Drown In Colors Of You,” a captivating tale centered around the passionate love between an aspiring artist, Jeongsu, and his student, Taewoo. Their story intertwines romance, artistry, and vibrant hues, but is also fraught with societal opposition and dramatic twists. When their love faces external threats, Jeongsu finds himself on the brink of losing Taewoo, who had once propelled him into the spotlight before departing. Despite their separation, Jeongsu immortalizes Taewoo’s essence in his paintings, ensuring their love lives on. You can find the paperback version on NotionPress and Amazon, while the ebook is available on the NotionPress app and Amazon Kindle platform.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I often find myself procrastinating when it comes to fleshing out a story, yet I’m deeply passionate about gathering and merging ideas into cohesive narratives. While I’ve crafted countless drafts and stories, I consistently struggle with updating them to incorporate factual knowledge and aligning them with my evolving writing style.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
My literary tastes tend to be eclectic, and I’m particularly drawn to the beauty of poetry and lyrical songwriting. In this realm, Kim Namjoon stands out as a significant inspiration for me. His ability to seamlessly weave metaphors into his words resonates deeply with my own writing style, which leans heavily towards poetic expression.

What are you working on now?
I’m currently busy in editing the sequel to “Drown In Colours Of You,” meticulously refining it and making necessary changes to enhance the narrative. With a plethora of drafts at my disposal, I’m eager to continue crafting stories for future publication.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m still in the process of figuring out the best platform for promoting my work. Currently, I’m utilizing my Instagram account to connect with as many people as possible and promote my writing.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
As a new author, I’m also navigating the learning curve and seeking advice. From my own experiences, I’ve learned the importance of saving up funds to invest in publishing and promoting your book. It’s crucial to dedicate your time and energy wholeheartedly, infused with passion, in pursuit of positive outcomes. Additionally, don’t overlook the significance of building a supportive community of fellow writers and readers.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The best advice I received is to “focus on your actions and not worry about the outcomes.” If you’re confident that you’re doing your best, that’s all that matters. Just keep moving forward with determination and persistence.

What are you reading now?
I’m currently compiling recommendations for future reads, but at the moment, I haven’t had the chance to indulge in any new books due to my busy schedule with studies. However, I’m eager to dive into “Aristotle & Dante,” as it comes highly recommended by a friend.

What’s next for you as a writer?
For a writer, the next step is often to continue exploring new styles, genres, and plots. Personally, I’m excited about the prospect of continuing to write even as I pursue my career a physiotherapist. There’s endless potential for growth and creativity in the world of storytelling, and I’m eager to embrace it.

What is your favorite book of all time?
It’s a tough question; I don’t have a single favorite book that I always carry with me. My reading preferences tend to change depending on my mood and what feels right at the time. Lately, I’ve noticed that I’m not as deeply passionate about reading as I used to be, so perhaps it’s time for me to delve into more classics and explore new literary landscapes.

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I was born in Odessa, Ukraine in a Polish-Russian family. Passion for literature has always been in my blood. Although I don’t consider myself an artist, I used to experiment with poetry, stageplays, literary translations, magazine articles. In my everyday life I might be working with journalism and tourism, but in my free time I enjoyed books. One day I wrote a novel, because I needed to escape from a toxic marriage. I’ve never thought that my book was going to be that successful. As my life changed, I don’t need any more escape to fiction, so I’d rather dedicate my life to beautiful reality.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
“Sophia and Cassius” was my attempt to create a trendy fiction, which would have included alternative history, fantasy, reincarnation and conspiracy. The latter two was chosen rather out of fun, but the first two are my favorite genres in literature.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
While working creatively, I drink a lot of coffee and act autistically.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
My favorite writers of all times are Henryk Sienkiewicz, Andrzej Sapkowski and Witold Jabłoński. When history meets fantasy, success is quite predictable.

What are you working on now?
Now I have inspiration for creative marketing in tourism.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
PR.com and book fairs seem to me the best ways of promotion.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Art is a paradise as a hobby but a hell as a profession.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Don’t listen to advices.

What are you reading now?
Blanka Lipińska. I guess only several readers can really get the point of 365 Trilogy. It’s about being the One in the world full of emotionally disabled people.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I worked really hard on my novel. Now it’s time for it to pay me back.

What is your favorite book of all time?

Monique Moreau

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I write scorching hot romance novels featuring alpha bad boys, morally gray mafia heroes, and bullies, along with the sassy heroines they fall for. I have published fourteen books in three different series.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is titled Unregrettable. It is a New Adult Mafia Romance with themes of bully, dark, and mafia romance with a grovel thrown in. It is set in a Romanian mafia clan in New York City. I was inspired to write it because I had been writing a mafia series with heroes and heroines who had siblings. The siblings started speaking to me about their own stories so I went with it and started a New Adult Mafia series featuring the younger siblings.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I eat a lot of chocolate when I write. The two go together!

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Cora Reilly, A. Zaverelli among others. I read in a lot of different romance genres so I could be reading a rom-com one day and then a monster romance the next day.

What are you working on now?
I am working on the fifth book of my main mafia series. It is titled The Bastard Heir. The series are standalone books of every brother of the family. This is one of the half-brothers from an illicit that their father had with another woman. That is why it is called The Bastard Heir.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
My website is https://www.moniquemoreau.com. I love my website and soon readers will be able to buy books directly from my website, including other merch.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Focus on finishing YOUR book, the book you want to write because, ultimately, it’s the book you want to read.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Do not compare yourself, your process, your path with others.

What are you reading now?
I’m reading a wolf shifter paranormal book.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I’d like to finish the two series I still have going. That is my priority right now.

What is your favorite book of all time?
I have too many different favorite books! It depends on my mood what I would consider my favorite book at any given time.

Susan Bradford

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Susan Bradford brought her Midwestern, Minnesota roots to 1960’s Berkeley where she transformed into an enlivened hippie and then set out hitchhiking on sailboats, living and working in the South Pacific and Asia in search of direction and meaning in her life.

Her global pilgrimage coupled with her joy of discovery. indomitable spirit, and passion for understanding the world around her deeply influenced her later work as a psychologist, political activist, and environmentalist, including co-founding the Hawaii Land Trust. Susan divides her time between Maui and Minneapolis.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My book is titled A View from the Crow’s Nest. What inspires me to write is the profound journey of self-discovery and transformation that I embarked upon in my life. My coming-of-age story, set in the turbulent 1960s, is a testament to the universal quest for identity and purpose. As I hitchhiked on sailboats across the globe, seeking answers to the questions of ‘who am I’ and ‘what am I to do with my life,’ I found myself immersed in a world of change and upheaval. From the heart-wrenching losses of my teens in the Midwest to the mind-expanding years in free-wheeling 1960s Berkeley, I felt compelled to document my experiences and insights. My odyssey became an initiation into the global shift towards a new world order, filled with cries of equality and freedom for all. Through writing, I am able to share my journey of growth, resilience, and the discovery of myself as a citizen of the world.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
nope!

What are you working on now?
Getting the word out about my book so more people can read it!

Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’ve published one novel and a collection of shorts, and I narrated an audiobook of shorts, both of which are available on my website. Currently, I’m working on a portal fantasy set in a bronze-age world. I have a family saga completed with magical realist elements, which needs a good edit as well,

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
A Perfect Blindness is an homage to Chicago of the late eighties and early nineties when I lived there for eight years. It’s my attempt to capture a place and time while exploring the idea that we’re all just misunderstood characters in the stories everyone tells themselves.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I get up early, a couple of hours before anyone else in the house is awake, make coffee, turn on the jams, and go for as long as I can before outside life takes back over.

What authors, or books have influenced you?
Lawrence Durrell’s *Alexandria Quartet*, Vladimir Nobokov’s *Lolita*, Salman Rushdie’s *The Moor’s Last Sigh*, and Philip Pullman’s *His Dark Materials* series. With a dose of D.H. Lawrence. And *the Labrinth of Forgotten Books” by Carlos Zafon.

What are you working on now?
I’m pressing forward on the first draft of *Walking the Darkmaker’s Way* a fantasy set in an animist bronze-age world.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m finding that reaching out to leaders of tribes, groups of people who like, let’s say, 80s club music, and getting their endorsement or permission to reach out to their group has lead to spikes in sales.

Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write. Regularly. And understand that you’re writing for someone else. An audience. Knowing who they are is a great help.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Writers write. (Gore Vidal). What kind of writer you are is a different thing all together.

What are you reading now?
The Wrong Sword by Ted Rabinowitz and listening to The Zodiac Series, Book 3 by Paul Sating

What’s next for you as a writer?
Finishing up my Fantasy duology *Walking the Darkmaker’s Way* and *The Book of Visions*. See where that goes. And eventually getting back to Solitude of the Knight, a family saga.

What is your favorite book of all time?
A toss up between the *Alexandria Quartet* and *the Cemetary of Lost Books.* The former for decades, the latter a recent contender.
