Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Hi! I am a wife and mother of two boys who loves all things romance! I read a lot of regency romance and dark romances, usually reading almost 200 books per year! I have now written 10 books, but the first one isn’t set to release until this November, with more release indie and traditional release dates set into 2025 and 2026! Aside from my family, writing, and books, I love Bridgerton, the Grinch, Jessica Rabbit, horror movies, cold brew, yoga, Hamilton, and speaking in obscure quotes from movies and TV shows.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The Earl and the Vixen, and it releases on 11/26! It’s the first book in my Unlikely Betrothal series, where each book features a different unlikely couple who ends up finding their HEA at a country house party. I am such a fan of enemies to lovers stories and had the idea to play around with what it would be like if two people who hoped to never see each other again because of past scorn found themselves trapped under the same roof together!
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I typically have Bridgerton or music from Hamilton on in the background while I write!
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Julia Quinn, Ella Quinn, Alexa Aston, Tamara Gill – I have read their entire backlists and reading their stories helped get me into writing, and particularly in historical romance.
What are you working on now?
I am finishing the last couple of books in my Romancing the Ton series for my publisher, then I have a couple of anthologies I am a part of, all while starting to do a bit of world building for a new regency series with more dark romance themes!
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I am still learning in this area! I keep doing my best to observe and learn from others, network, connect with readers, and immerse myself in the community!
Do you have any advice for new authors?
I’m a new author as well… but, my first piece of advice is to keep going! The imposter syndrome is real, but don’t give up and find the things that work for you! My second piece of advice is to start building a mailing list as soon as you can, even if you don’t have a book out!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Pay for the things you don’t love or aren’t excellent at. When I set out in this venture, I thought I would do everything myself to save money. I quickly realized that wasn’t what would sell or what would keep me sane. So I have an amazing PA, Morgan, as well as an editor, a cover artist, a marketing coach, a beta team, and author friends who make up the team that help make this happen!
What are you reading now?
I am currently reading Alexa Aston’s newest regency book from The Strongs of Shadowcrest series, The Marquess’ Quest for Love!
What’s next for you as a writer?
I LOVE reading and writing really spicy reads, so I want to try my hand at more dark themes and kinks still set in the era that I love so much!
What is your favorite book of all time?
Jane Eyre is a favorite! All of the Bridgerton books for sure. And the entire LORDS series from Shantel Tessier!
