Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
To date, I have five books out. The Sync’d series is a character-driven sci-fi saga filled with action, adventure, and found family. My Realm of Lunareth and Solterris duology shifts to fantasy, following Skye, a woman who, after a lifetime of being told to “just try a little harder,” wishes she could simply fade away.
I believe stories are strongest when the characters lead the way, pulling readers into their struggles, triumphs, and unforgettable journeys. Each one leaves a mark. Scarlett, in particular, has become so beloved that she’s found her place in two different worlds.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest work-in-progress is Fall of a Legend, Rise of a Hero. It was inspired by the feeling of never truly fitting in—something I’ve experienced firsthand and know many others have as well.
Liam is a man out of time, struggling to find his place in a world that has moved on without him. Neko hides a secret so dangerous that, if discovered, she could vanish from existence. Their journeys explore identity, belonging, and what it truly means to stand your ground when the world tells you that you don’t belong.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Don’t we all? For me, music is essential to setting the mood while writing. Action scenes need fast tempos, slower moments call for something softer, and for romance—well, I don’t throw on Barry Manilow, but I find something that sets the right tone. The right soundtrack helps bring the emotions of a scene to life.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
To many to list. From Michael Crichton, Matched by Ally Condie, to Where the Sidewalk ends. I find all styles, and genres to inspire me.
What are you working on now?
Right now, Fall of a Legend, Rise of a Hero is in the hands of alpha readers. As for what’s next? The next story is starting to take shape, and the notes are piling up. But it’s still too early to share a synopsis. Some stories need a little more time to find their voice.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
My website, christopherstuchl.com, is still new but gaining traction. I use it to share not just my own books and writing but also to highlight other incredible authors I’ve met and read. There are so many fantastic writers out there who deserve to be heard. Honestly, I probably do a better job promoting others than I do myself!
Do you have any advice for new authors?
When you’re told ‘its not good enough’ remember. It’s not good enough for them. You are. Never though away a story, or an idea just because someone doesn’t like it. With so many different readers, some day you’ll find your audience.
Also, proofreaders are a must. ;D
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
We all die someday. Perhaps tomorrow. Or fifty years from now. No one’s last words have ever been, “I’m glad I didn’t follow my dream.”
What are you reading now?
Red Rising
What’s next for you as a writer?
The next story.
What is your favorite book of all time?
Don’t laugh. Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. It’s the first book as a kid I read where I didn’t want to stop.
