Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Hello, I’m Dippy, a budding writer with a background in medical profession and a fervent love for storytelling. After crafting numerous rough drafts, I’ve taken the leap to publish my debut novel, “Drown in Colors of You.” It’s the culmination of my unwavering dedication, passion, and tireless effort. I’m excited to embark on this writing journey and eagerly anticipate creating more stories in the future.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
I recently released “Drown In Colors Of You,” a captivating tale centered around the passionate love between an aspiring artist, Jeongsu, and his student, Taewoo. Their story intertwines romance, artistry, and vibrant hues, but is also fraught with societal opposition and dramatic twists. When their love faces external threats, Jeongsu finds himself on the brink of losing Taewoo, who had once propelled him into the spotlight before departing. Despite their separation, Jeongsu immortalizes Taewoo’s essence in his paintings, ensuring their love lives on. You can find the paperback version on NotionPress and Amazon, while the ebook is available on the NotionPress app and Amazon Kindle platform.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I often find myself procrastinating when it comes to fleshing out a story, yet I’m deeply passionate about gathering and merging ideas into cohesive narratives. While I’ve crafted countless drafts and stories, I consistently struggle with updating them to incorporate factual knowledge and aligning them with my evolving writing style.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
My literary tastes tend to be eclectic, and I’m particularly drawn to the beauty of poetry and lyrical songwriting. In this realm, Kim Namjoon stands out as a significant inspiration for me. His ability to seamlessly weave metaphors into his words resonates deeply with my own writing style, which leans heavily towards poetic expression.
What are you working on now?
I’m currently busy in editing the sequel to “Drown In Colours Of You,” meticulously refining it and making necessary changes to enhance the narrative. With a plethora of drafts at my disposal, I’m eager to continue crafting stories for future publication.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m still in the process of figuring out the best platform for promoting my work. Currently, I’m utilizing my Instagram account to connect with as many people as possible and promote my writing.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
As a new author, I’m also navigating the learning curve and seeking advice. From my own experiences, I’ve learned the importance of saving up funds to invest in publishing and promoting your book. It’s crucial to dedicate your time and energy wholeheartedly, infused with passion, in pursuit of positive outcomes. Additionally, don’t overlook the significance of building a supportive community of fellow writers and readers.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The best advice I received is to “focus on your actions and not worry about the outcomes.” If you’re confident that you’re doing your best, that’s all that matters. Just keep moving forward with determination and persistence.
What are you reading now?
I’m currently compiling recommendations for future reads, but at the moment, I haven’t had the chance to indulge in any new books due to my busy schedule with studies. However, I’m eager to dive into “Aristotle & Dante,” as it comes highly recommended by a friend.
What’s next for you as a writer?
For a writer, the next step is often to continue exploring new styles, genres, and plots. Personally, I’m excited about the prospect of continuing to write even as I pursue my career a physiotherapist. There’s endless potential for growth and creativity in the world of storytelling, and I’m eager to embrace it.
What is your favorite book of all time?
It’s a tough question; I don’t have a single favorite book that I always carry with me. My reading preferences tend to change depending on my mood and what feels right at the time. Lately, I’ve noticed that I’m not as deeply passionate about reading as I used to be, so perhaps it’s time for me to delve into more classics and explore new literary landscapes.
