Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’ve loved books since childhood, falling especially hard for romance during college, but I didn’t start writing my own until a few years later. Since then, I’ve published seven works—seven romance novels and a poetry collection, with another novel and novella planned for this year.
I craft stories of unexpected connections and second chances, blending heart, heat, and humor. My experience spans both traditional and self-publishing, earning me a devoted readership who can’t resist relatable characters and emotional storytelling.
When I’m not writing my next steamy romance, I love hiking with my camera, riding or teaching others how to ride a motorcycle (I teach courses), or curling up with a book and either coffee or bourbon. I live with my husband, two kids, and a feline writing companion who supervises her creative process.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Smooth Sailing. Both characters were in another book of mine, Making Waves as secondary characters. Paloma had a situationalship Asher (the MMC of the story) early in the story. Though she wasn’t on the pages much, her fantastic personality showed through and demanded her story. It was also inspired by someone close to me who believes she is too much (or not enough) to be loved. I say she’s just right for the right person—that’s what this is about.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Not really. I can write just about anywhere and at any time. This was a huge surprise to me, as I have ADD, yet writing (and reading) is one of the few times I hyperfocus. I find it incredibly relaxing for my mind.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
So many, from indie to traditional published. Colleen Hoover’s books taught me to focus on emotions and the personal journey. Susan Elizabeth Phillips and Christain Lauren taught me about humor in romance. Emily Henry about great banter.
What are you working on now?
I’m working on a novella in the Lake House Love series. I will give it to my newsletter subscribers for free and offer the paperbacks at in-person events or by request. I’m also writing another full-length book for that series and starting a new one. This will be my first series outside of Michigan. It takes place in Kentucky, and each story will be about the billionaire siblings of a prominent bourbon family.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
My newsletter.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Never stop learning the craft. We can always improve our writing, but hold on to your voice—it’s what makes your stories unique.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Make friends in the writing community. Writing isn’t an easy path; having trusted people to turn to for advice, positive words, and celebrating is EVERYTHING.
What are you reading now?
Maggie Moves On by Lucy Score.
What’s next for you as a writer?
The next book. It’s always the next book.
What is your favorite book of all time?
That’s like asking who my favorite kid is. It’s impossible to answer.
