Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a physician and theologian with a longstanding interest in spiritual healing. As a physician (M.D., M.Sc.), specialized in Aerospace Medicine, I wrote the first book on Space Clinical Medicine. As a theologian (D.Min., Ph.D), ordained as a minister and engaged in spiritual healing, I have written four books on spiritual healing, the last two being revisions of the first two.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book (March, 2020) book is entitled “We Can Help God Heal Us.” I have learned much about spiritual healing from personal study, observations and experience of it. Although the practice of spiritual healing shown by Jesus Christ has been distorted and even abandoned down through the centuries, I have found that his way of spiritual healing still works. Consequently, I have been inspired to write a book that promotes a wider awareness of our being able to help God heal us, by opening minds to the reality of spiritual healing and by providing guidance for spiritual healing as practiced by Jesus Christ.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
None that I’m aware of!
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Morton Kelsey, Francis MacNutt, Ron Roth, Larry Dossey, the writers of the Gospels, Marcus Borg, John Dominic Crossan, Bart Ehrman.
What are you working on now?
I am gathering information related to the afterlife, principally from the Holy Bible and various religious writings, and books on and accounts of near-death and out-of-body experiences, past-life and inter-life regressions, and reported spirit communications. This book-writing project stems from my discussion of the afterlife in “Spirits Can Help God Heal Us,” https://www.amazon.com/Spirits-Can-Help-God-Heal-ebook/dp/B07N362JWY.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
This question is difficult to answer because sales statistics may not accurately results of individual promotional activities. I have used social media (Facebook and Twitter), and have written several articles for journals and magazines and given lectures based on material in my books.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write clearly and understandably, and be patient.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Process information with your brain; write with your heart.
What are you reading now?
Memories of the Afterlife, by Michael Newton
What’s next for you as a writer?
Possibly to write a book on the afterlife. My inspiration for this project comes from an out-of-body experience during surgery at the age of 5, an out-of-body experience reported to me by a patient whom I revived in medical practice, and a near-death experience reported to me by a patient whom I visited as a hospital chaplain.
What is your favorite book of all time?
The Holy Bible
