Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I grew up on the East Coast, very frequently swimming in the beaches of the Atlantic and loving every minute of it.
When I was a teenager, I wrote a lot of poetry but never thought about publishing. The book I am working on now will be first “official” work.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
“Dear Mom” (A letter I will never send, to a mother who would never read it anyway). I was inspired to write it by my unfortunate life’s experience with my narcissistic mother. Although I knew she would never hear me out, writing it allowed me to express my innermost feelings.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I do not think it is possible to have unusual writing habits. Each writer enjoys a unique freedom!
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Shakespeare. He did not seem to allow himself to be confined by time or subject. He simply wrote.
What are you working on now?
I am writing what will likely be my most personal work ever, “Dear Mom” (A letter I will never send, to a mother who would never read it anyway). It is written in the form of a letter to my narcissistic mother. I do my best to express myself as I would if I was writing to Mother herself. Perhaps one day Eva I deliver the book to its rightful recipient. For now, I enjoy the liberation of having poured out my true feelings.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Instagram is user friendly and it is easy to find your target audience as well as other habits you didn’t know you had!
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write, write, write to your heart’s content. Worry about editing later. Much later.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Take one day at a time. One minute if necessary.
What are you reading now?
King Lear by Shakespeare and I love it. I never thought I would read Shakespeare after high school. But I am enjoying it very much.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I think I might write a book of prose, short anecdotes of lessons I learned throughout my lifetime.
What is your favorite book of all time?
The Body Keeps The Score by Bessel van der Kolk. It taught me so much about how the body responds to thoughts and feelings. I have greater appreciation for the need to address anything that affects my mental health.
