About Forgotten Erf by Layton Bushel
A Sci-Fi novel with a sometimes quirky sense of humour.
Oliver’s home-made time machine accidentally transports him to an Earth-like planet in another universe, with no chance of return.
He finds a rural human settlement there, with some inhabitants being much older than they look.
They use their skills, ingenuity and whatever they can find there to make the most of what they have and discover the truth about their situation.
Some find evidence of ancient, highly advanced technology built into the planet.
A friendly technically-minded Neanderthal also lives there, who knows a lot more than he’s letting on.
There are some ‘high-tech’ bits in the book, but much of it ‘low-tech’.
Characters include an overweight ex-racehorse, a robot version of Elvis and humans from Earths in other universes.
