Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a writer, photographer, painter and author of the new novel ‘The Prophecy.’ I have spent many years reading romance novels and now has written her own. I live and work in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia. This is the first book that I have written with four more in the series planned!
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The Prophecy. I’ve had these characters and storyline on my mind for over a year now. I recently took some time off and decided to focus on finishing this book and have it as my first published works! Super excited.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I’m not sure if this is unusual or not, but I write with Tibetian or Forest meditation music while munching on sour keys and almonds. It helps me write. Not sure why!
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I absolutely am in love with Sarah J. Maas, Patricia Briggs and Ilona Andrews. Their books take you to another world and you can’t wait to see what happens next to the characters. Their writing style helps immerse you in the characters’ worlds and get invested in their lives. I aspire to write like that.
What are you working on now?
I have mapped out the next four books which follow different characters that were introduced in the Prophecy. I’m working on writing the second book called “The DayWalker”.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
That is a work in progress. Right now I post all of the books that I’ve written on Pinterest.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do it. Just focus on the end goal and go for it.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The best quote and advice I have heard is from Steve Jobs and he says “Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don’t settle”. I love that quote and motto!
What are you reading now?
I’m reading two books ‘Awake the Giant Within’ by Tony Robbins and ‘Meditations – The Philosophy Classic’ by Marcus Aurelius.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Working on my second book. Promotion my work and learning more about this author world that I just became a part of.
What is your favorite book of all time?
‘Jane Eyre’ by Charlotte Brontë
