Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m the mother of eight and a grandmother. I’ve written over thirty books, most of them inspirational romance. I’ve also written romantic fantasy and children’s stories.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The newest work is a storybook entitled Simeon’s Hands. It’s the story of a woodcarver who puts others before himself. Initially, it was one of the many Christmas stories I’ve written through the years for my family and friends. I changed it to an anytime story because of the message.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I do a lot of people-watching, and many strangers wind up in my stories in one way or another. My imagination is constantly going, and I make sure to carry a notebook and pen wherever I go.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I’ve always loved Richard Paul Evans, Nicholas Sparks, Amy Harmon, Marcia Lynn McClure, Francine Rivers, and Tolkein.
What are you working on now?
Right now I’m working on another storybook. It’s actually one of my family’s favorite stories that I’ve written for them.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
My Amazon page and my new blog that is still a work in progress.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write what you love, never stop learning about writing, and remember that you will not be able to please everyone with your writing, so don’t try. Your fanbase will come in time.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Never let anyone steal your dreams. And never give up on your goals.
What are you reading now?
At the moment, I’m listening to Sayonara by James Michener, Pontius Pilate by Paul L. Maier, and True Grace by Karen E. Osborne.
What’s next for you as a writer?
After I finish this next storybook, I will probably take a break and do more reading and other hobbies.
What is your favorite book of all time?
I have several actually: The Mark of the Lion trilogy by Francine Rivers and From Sand and Ash by Amy Harmon.
