Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I just finished my debut, and I am quite excited about it. I get a lot of good feedback, which is fantastic.
In my day job, I help digital companies grow their business. Writing is my creative outlet, and I must say, writing this first book has been so rewarding that I hope to do more creative work in the future.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My book is titled ‘Another Man’s Freedom Fighter’. It’s the story of a Russian invasion into Poland in the near future and a stay-behind army fighting the occupation. I first started to get interested in the stay-behind concept when I read a book about the so-called Gladio Organization in Italy and its counterparts in Germany, Belgium, and other European countries. I find the idea to have a trained force operating behind enemy lines fascinating. Exploring it in a literary way was much fun.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Not really, I try to get up early and use the day’s first energy burst for my creative work. Then I go about my day job as a consultant, and sometimes I get back to writing in the evening. Most nights, though, I am too tired to write.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I am an addict of spy thrillers, Tom Clancy and Lee Child are my favorites, and I like to think they influenced my style. I also love the Bernie Gunther books by Philip Kerr which I just recently discovered.
What are you working on now?
Currently, I am working on the German translation of ‘Another Man’s Freedom Fighter’.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
So far, I don’t have a tried and proven method.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Outline your book before you write. Also, make sure it won’t get too long. I struggled with the many things I wanted to use and ended up with a complicated and very long manuscript.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Outline your book before you write.
What are you reading now?
Currently, I read ‘The Lady from Zagreb’, a Bernie Gunther novel by Philip Kerr.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Starting around Easter, I will write the sequel to the book. The plot is currently stealing my sleep and awaits being written down.
What is your favorite book of all time?
Impossible to answer, I have too many favorite books to pick one over the others.
