Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I am a screenwriter, producer, and director from Chicago, IL. I have been married to the wonderful and exceptionally talented Cat Ellington since 1994, and we share three great children and a pet Pomeranian. To date, I have written and published one work of nonfiction.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The Making of Dual Mania: Filmmaking Chicago Style. Co-authored with B.J. Patterson and Cat Ellington, the book was inspired by the motion picture Dual Mania, which I wrote, produced, and directed.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Yes. I tend to capitalize every letter in every word that I write, especially when composing my screenplays.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Stephen King, Harlan Ellison, Joyce Carol Oates, Tom Wolfe, Ralph Ellison, and Shirley Jackson.
What are you working on now?
I’m currently submitting Dual Mania (the feature film) to various international film festivals, and preparing the foreword for Reviews by Cat Ellington: The Complete Anthology, Vol. 3.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I have quite a few, including Amazon, LibraryThing, BookBub, BookLikes, AUTHORSdb, etc.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
I would say that it is best to stay true to yourself and to find your own voice as a creative artist. And I cannot stress this enough: Perseverance is the key to success.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
‘Hold on to your creative freedom.’

Star Island by Carl Hiaasen.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I am composing the foreword for Reviews by Cat Ellington: The Complete Anthology, Vol. 3.
What is your favorite book of all time?
The Holy Bible.
