Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
My name is Keath Silva. I am a poet, gardener and healing arts practitioner. I have written 2 books and transcribed a third.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is King Crone and The Empty Nest. It was inspired by experience as an older trans person going through some major life changes.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Yes! Poems come to me at inconvenient times. I have to rush to somehow write them down or they will be lost!
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I love the poetry of Franny Choi, Natalie Díaz and Alok Vaid Menon.
What are you working on now?
I am working on a grant to put on a community transgender poetry reading. I am also working on a collection of trans for trans love poems.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
Reading my work at poetry readings and bringing some of my books to sell there.

Just start writing. Worry about publishing later.

What’s next for you as a writer?
I am really excited about putting together a transgender community poetry reading! I am also excited to deepen my craft and take more poetry classes.
