About Last-Second Decision
During months of penury from Haiti’s destruction, they selected Inspector Gage Pemberton to join a security team of twenty men. Their primary duty was to give help to the refugees. Pemberton struggles between his leadership role and his love for his wife, and he realizes his arrogance toward the task ahead fools him. The decision to appoint Pemberton should have been taken seriously by the lieutenant. Who felt overlooked and unacknowledged?
Pemberton’s reality began loosening once he steps foot into Haiti. He’s introduced to his faith and the problems that come with it. Surrounded by unexpected fantasies and decisions. The lieutenant is a serpent trying to devour Pemberton’s body. Pemberton kept growing more and more adamant about the safety of his men, struggling with a feeling that he won’t die and refusing to lose hope. Pemberton pondered these words in his heart, “another man’s loss is another man’s gain.” While trying to make the best of the situation, things kept challenging him. I can describe happiness as lost memories being found.
Haitian soldiers fought bravely to capture or kill these men from a misguided prime minister whose primary focus was revenge. Only when James got put down for the actions of Constable Huggins did the men grow stronger together. From there, it was a struggle to go home. They faced obstacle after obstacle—our guys with situations that would break minor men. But, finally, seeing the result was home, and they fought for the chance to return home again. Their home on their lips, they fought to feel such pleasures again. As a result, trust broken, and it made a new form of brotherhood. Will they make it to freedom, or will death be their ultimate decision?
