What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
It’s Not Burnout; It’s Betrayal: 5 Tools to FUEL UP & Thrive is my latest book. It was inspired by my journey through infidelity and betrayal.
That journey helped me to see how often betrayal crops up in everyday life, and how ill-equipped we are to identify or deal with it effectively.
My goal was to shed light on betrayal and its impact as well as offer tools to mitigate and manage both burnout and betrayal.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I love to write late into the night with a cat or two by my side!
What authors, or books have influenced you?
As an avid reader, there are too many to count! I love Barbara Kingsolver, Liz Gilbert, Amy Tan, Ken Follet, Emmit Fox, and Neale Donald Walsch.
What are you working on now?
I’m working on relaxing, coaching, and enjoying myself. This year I want to step away from the grind and focus on wellness, health, and play.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
For me using websites to promote my book is just the beginning! Websites connect me with readers, but then it’s up to me to build connection, inspire conversation, and continue to add value. That’s where the majority of the book sales happen–when readers refer my book to other readers.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Don’t let perfection get in the way! You do not have to be perfect; you simply have to make progress. You can edit later, or you can even scrap what you wrote and start again. What matters most is writing.
I think by writing, and often my first few drafts are meaningless. But it’s in those first few drafts that my ideas come to life, so when I start writing, I am more centered, clearer, and can move more quickly.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Nothing anybody says or does is about you.
What are you reading now?
I always read multiple books at a time. I’m reading A Cours in Miracles, Let Them, The Sophia Code, 10X is Easier than 2X, Man’s Search for Meaning, and A Well-Trained Wife.
What’s next for you as a writer?
My next book is a book about my own infidelity journey. I’m not ready to start, however! I’m thinking that 2027 will be the best timing for that book.
What is your favorite book of all time?
I really don’t have an all-time favorite. That said, I think I’ve re-read Gone With the Wind more than any other book. Despite its issues, there’s just something magical about that book.
