Marjan walked away from an outlaw life over 40 years ago. He moved his wife and his five children into the Montana wilderness where he grew most of his own food and became an entrepreneur, co-founding and selling a number of businesses. Marjan is now retired and has a passion for helping others, writing, billiards, motorcycling, mountain lakes and watching his 20 grandchildren grow.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
600 Devils by Marjan – The book was 20 years in the making. I had to wait until certain people were deceased before I launched it. 600 Devils is a story that just had to be told. About the time I transitioned from being an emotionally disturbed teenager to a hardcore outlaw, I began to view the material world as a temporary illusion crippled by human boundaries. Torn between the freewheeling lifestyle of a smuggler and being an austere spiritual seeker, there was a lot to sort out.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Not really, it is mainly a matter of jogging my memory. I’m retired and some things in the book happened a long time ago when I was young, impetuous, adventurous and foolish.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Tolkien, Hancock, C.S. Lewis
What are you working on now?
Fasting Firepower – A layman’s guide to a mountain moving life.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m relatively new at this, but the Amazon link is best as it has Editorial Reviews which were surprisingly positive and encouraging.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
If you have the want to, keep at it. It took me a few years to come up with an ending for 600 Devils as I had to work out some mental issues, but when I got to the end, the answer was there.
