I was limping. My organs were practically spilling out from my body. My raven hair stuck to my face, the sweat mixing with the blood. My vision was fading to black, getting hazier and hazier by the moment, but even then, I caught that smallest ray of light at the end. Just a bit farther, and everything will be fine.
I clutched my chest. The pain was spreading throughout me. I bit the bottom of my lip, trying to keep myself from screaming. I winced, but I pushed myself forth, at the least trying to retain any sort of dignity. I had to find something. Anything.
From the corner of my eyes, I saw something familiar. A silhouette of someone I admired, adored. But I clenched my teeth, and wiped the tears from my eyes. He abandoned me. He left me here to rot.
So I had to keep moving.
