It was the first week of December, and the festive spirit was already filling the air. For Mia and Rachel, a loving lesbian couple, Christmas was a special time to cherish their love, family, and traditions. They had been together for over a decade and had built a beautiful life with their adorable 7-year-old son, Jude.
As they sipped hot cocoa in their cozy living room, surrounded by the warm glow of twinkling lights and the soft hum of Christmas music, they began preparing for the upcoming holiday. Jude was busy decorating the Christmas tree with colorful ornaments and lights, his little face lighting up excitedly as he carefully placed each decoration.
“I want to make this the best Christmas ever for Jude,” Mia said, her eyes sparkling with excitement as she gazed at their son. She was a talented artist, and her creativity shone through in decorating their home and planning their holiday activities.
“I’m thinking we should start a new tradition this year,” Rachel suggested, snuggling closer to Mia on the couch. She was a successful businesswoman, and her organizational skills ensured their holiday season was always well-planned and stress-free. “What do you think about having a Christmas Eve box?”
Mia’s face lit up. “That’s a wonderful idea! Jude will love it.” She turned to Jude, now hanging a sparkly star on top of the tree. “Hey, buddy, Mama and I were thinking of starting a new tradition this year. We will make a special Christmas Eve box just for you!”
Jude’s eyes widened with excitement as he ran over to them, his little legs moving quickly. “Yay! What’s going to be in it, Mommy? Mama?”
Mia and Rachel exchanged a warm smile. “Well, that’s a surprise,” Mia said, “but we’ll make sure it’s something special, just for you.”
As they chatted, the aroma of freshly baked cookies wafted from the kitchen, enticing them with the promise of sweet treats. Jude’s eyes sparkled with anticipation. “Mommy, Mama, can we please make some Christmas cookies now? Pleeease?”
