About Mudlarks & Meadowlarks: a Whitechapel story by Ellyn Peirson:
This story, highly fabricated though is, is written around my childhood understanding of a significant, singular incident in the life of my paternal grandfather.Because of my grandfather’s life in London, on the Canadian prairies and in Toronto, I am here and writing this story about an unsung hero, a most ordinary man. I dedicate this book to him, Harry Westley, a mudlark of sorts who loved meadowlarks… and to the memory of his son, my father, Frank.

Author Bio:
I could tell you this about me… a little ditty I wrote a few years ago, and it might suffice:I am a lover of oils and potions, physics and metaphysics.I seek patterns and meaning.I create my own music and magicfrom words and sounds and silence and shapesand look for kindred soulsin the ruins of Pompeii.A little interpretation and my bio is done: The original cauldron for this distillation was Saskatchewan, a harsh province in boundless Canada. Saskatchewan still lives in my soul and my writing. I moved to Ontario, the province of plenty, when I was eighteen. Through the interval since then, my love affairs with literature, physics, music, photography, ancient history, the soul and family life have grown strong roots. I love seclusion and thrive in an environment of music, Venetian glass, gardens and historic stone buildings in Guelph and of nature’s cathedrals on the northern shores of Lake Huron. I happen to be Canadian with roots in England, Scotland and Norway.Ellyn Peirson is the author of the best-selling Antonia Of Venice.
