Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Nedum A. Uzoh is a graduate of Computer Science with a Master’s degree in Information Technology from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomosho, Nigeria.
Although, a technologist and a member of numerous professional groups and associations, he has spent many years of his career in various projects but still keeps up with one of his hobbies which is writing.
His love for books and writing stems from his Dad who retired as a seasoned English Language tutor and Nedum has shown no signs of quitting the trend as more literary works which include poems credited to him are currently awaiting publishing.
Nedum’s passion for writing is exemplified in his works in which the author tells the story exactly as it happened. Although most of his books are fictional, they are a true representation of how life truly is to a great number of people whose situations have been captured in them.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The Vain Garden
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I wouldn’t call my writing habits as unusual because writing has always been a part of me. I see no labour in writing. It has become one of my hobbies.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I have read books from many authors but Nora Roberts has remained one of my influences in writing. I have a good collection of her books and Montana Sky is among my best reads.
What are you working on now?
I am working on another fiction to follow up The Vain Garden which is my maiden launch. The upcoming novel is billed to become public
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
For now, I use the Amazon Kindle platform to make it available and accessible to the public. But then, Pretty-Hot has become the go-to for me in terms of promotional campaigns.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
I still count myself among new authors :). This is because I feel that I have not made the depth of impact I wish to make as an author and that’s releasing bestselling books at least every two years. Therefore to my fellow new authors, I would advise that we remain focused on the content we plan to give to the public space. We have to be wary of the kind of content that would impact the world positively in the context of behavioural tendencies and not such that would tear it apart. Don’t write to please anyone but to please your conscience.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Not to join the bandwagon because it is not always headed to the right direction but rather satisfy your ‘good’ conscience.
What are you reading now?
Nothing at the moment that’s related to fictional work. Rather I have some technical documentations I’m preparing for a software project my partners and I would roll out soon.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I plan to launch my official website where my followers and readers would lesrn more about my book authoring journey and other information they may desire to access.
What is your favorite book of all time?
Guilliver’s Travels by Dr Jonathan Swift
