Learn More About The Author
Ander Louis is an independent author from Australia. He writes in various genres, from Fantasy to Literary Fiction. For a brain-break, he translates Tolstoy’s War & Peace into Australian, because it makes him laugh.
Regarding his first novel, Louis said: ‘I wanted The Liberation to be fun, right from page one. It’s my first novel and I wanted to aim big with it. I did everything in my power to create a story that would measure up authors I admire, and most importantly – that would entertain people. That was paramount among my goals – to make sure people were enjoying the reading experience. It’s not about preaching an idea, or a personal philosophy, or trying to explain myself, or leave a legacy – no, all I wanted to do here was entertain people. I sincerely hope I’ve achieved that and can continue to do so with my future offerings.’
Regarding his novel Personal Fable, Louis said: ‘After two fantasy novels, I decided that for my third novel I would write in the genre to which I feel I am best suited: Literary Fiction. I feel proud to have created a novel unlike anything I’ve read before, and yet palatable and fast-paced. It’s difficult to achieve: unfamiliar, yet easily digestible, and I reckon I managed it. The story is simple, yet has hidden complexities layered deeply throughout, with the aim of making it not only readable, but extremely re-readable.’
