Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
My name is Ramyata and I am a passionate writer who loves to explore the world of storytelling. I have always been captivated by the power of words and their ability to transport us to different worlds. Writing has been my creative outlet for as long as I can remember, and it brings me immense joy to finally share one of my written works with the world.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My brother was going through surgery and was in hospital and I couldn't stop thinking of what my 8-year-old niece was feeling. This was a desire to help her understand that experiencing different emotions is a normal part of life and that it's okay to feel that way. I wanted to create a story that would encourage her along with other children to explore their emotions and provide them with tools to manage them in a positive way.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I can write anywhere or everywhere, the only thing that drives me is the intensity of inspiration, and beyond that nothing is a distraction.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I have been influenced by every person who is out there doing something passionately. It can be writing a song, starting your own business, or investing time in learning a new skill. The grit they bring to their work is what influences and inspires me.
What are you working on now?
Motivating my elder niece to pen down her thoughts and potentially teaming up with her. The current generation of youngsters is remarkable, and collaborating with them presents an opportunity for us to learn.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I do not have one, maybe you can point me to some good ones which I should be using.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
With these amazing platforms that offer self-publishing, do not let anything hold you back, especially the doubt that you might have about your work. Just publish it!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Do what makes you happy, everything else will follow.
What are you reading now?
The first 90 days by Michael D. Watkins, it helps you understand what to focus on when starting a new role, a new job or in general how to separate the noise from things that need attention.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Hopefully the project I am collaborating with my elder niece on.
What is your favorite book of all time?
I don't want to pick one. Gone are the days when you needed to have 'one' favorite. Now with digital media, you can have a dozen of your favorite books with you, at all times.
