My name is Romina Vinci.
Yes, Vinci like Leonardo da Vinci (we are not related, though, even if I would have liked).
I am Italian, but I have been living in the UK for several years.
Since I was a child, writing has been one of my greatest passions. Over the years, I have written short stories, poems and songs in Italian, English and Spanish wrote a children’s book, Hope Has a Dream.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Hope Has a Dream is my first children’s book. It’s an empowering story against racism.
I put all my soul and heart in it.
Standing up against racism has always been the most important social cause to me.
Hope Has a Dream is my personal contribution for this social cause, since the book encourages young minds to say no to racism and discrimination.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
No, I am quite boring from this point of view.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Talking about children’s book authors, I’d say that Julia Donaldson and Rachel Bright are the writers who most inspired me to start writing a picture book.
What are you working on now?
I am planning to write my second children’s book.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I see a great potential in social media and in websites offering newsletters to readers.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Be yourself, believe in your book, never give up.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
If someone criticizes you, don’t worry: nobody can be liked by everyone.

Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Writing more children’s books and, hopefully, a novel.
