Joel Hopkinson (1972-) was born on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. Spending his early life on a pineapple farm, some of his earliest memories involve a carpet snake being wrapped around the bathroom’s cistern, and an echidna being found among the pineapples.
After spending almost 10 years working in South, Korea, as well as smaller jobs in Vietnam and Myanmar, Joel started teaching adults language, literacy, and numeracy. He considers himself lucky to have this job because he gets to meet people from all over the world, share their stories, and help them achieve their goals.
