Sports Cupping: A Beginner’s Guide to Cupping Therapy for Athletes at Any Level

About Sports Cupping: A Beginner’s Guide to Cupping Therapy for Athletes at Any Level

Have you ever hurt yourself while working out? Are you looking for a simple, inexpensive treatment method? Cupping could be the answer!

For thousands of years, cupping has been practiced in countries like China, Egypt, and Greece. By heating a glass cup and pressing it against pressure points on the body, therapists can encourage healing and promote good health. If you’re cupping at home, you will use the vacuum-cupping method, which replaces glass cups with plastic, rubber, or silicone, so you don’t need to involve fire. This therapy has become increasingly popular among athletes who frequently deal with sore muscles, stretched ligaments, and other health problems

In Sports Cupping – A Beginner’s Guide to Cupping Therapy for Athletes at Any Level, you’ll learn about the history of cupping and all its benefits. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, all of life is sustained by energy known as “qi,” and the human body is no exception. Unfortunately, the flow of qi can stagnate because of injuries and cause symptoms like pain, dizziness, and decreased athletic performance. By applying cupping, you can activate healthy qi flow again, strengthen your immune system, and prevent diseases.

In this book, you’ll learn how to treat injuries like:

Hamstring strains
Groin pulls
Shin splints
Lower back pain
Knee injuries
Tennis elbow
Neck pain

We’ll also cover health conditions that can affect an athlete’s performance, like anxiety, depression, nausea, and insomnia. If you’re an active person or a professional athlete, you are at risk for injuries. This book provides you with detailed guides on where to cup and other treatment options like changes in your diet and herbal medicine. You’ll also learn about specific essential oils and herbs that can enhance your cupping experience, and complementary treatments that therapists often offer. An injury shouldn’t stop you from achieving your athletic goals. Educate yourself on an ancient and effective treatment method, and become stronger than ever!

Learn More About The Author

Maggie Hansen always found ancient and traditional medicines fascinating. As a child, whenever she had a stomach ache, her mother would always brew her some ginger tea. While she didn’t know why it worked, she knew she could rely on the spicy-sweet, comforting drink to soothe her pain.

When she got older and began thinking about what to study in school, massage therapy kept coming up. Maggie understood the power of the body-mind connection, and massage fit right into her desire to heal people. In her educational journey, she began learning about acupuncture and cupping. What seemed a little strange and almost like magic started to make biological and anatomical sense as she learned about acupuncture, cupping, and Chinese herbal medicine, and the studies that support the ancient treatments. Maggie’s work as a masseuse lets her incorporate dry cupping, aromatherapy, acupuncture, and herbs into her patients’ treatment plans.

In her free time, Maggie loves running and is training for a marathon, though she also enjoys just lounging around with her cat and watching mystery movies. She wants to continue pursuing her education in therapy and one day open her own clinic. Maggie’s dream is to create an oasis for people seeking healing both inside and out.
