Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Two.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is volume one of my Life After Gluten (A.G.) cookbook series. This one tackles breakfast and dessert recipes. I was inspired by my tastebuds! Nine years ago, I went gluten-free on my doctor’s recommendation and very quickly knew the recipes I was finding weren’t going to cut it. If they didn’t satisfy me then others like me would benefit from tasty gluten-free recipes too, so I thought I better get writing!
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Yes, I tend to write my recipes out on whatever is handy: the side of a cereal box, a receipt, etc.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
The Joy of Cooking is 100% my influence. In my mind Joy of Cooking defines cookbooks and so I strive to give the same quality of book, plus pictures, to the gluten-free world.
What are you working on now?
Volume two of the Life A.G. series which focuses on Breads & Meals.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I have a bias toward newsprint, it works, and is the family business but all my promotion points to my blog and Instagram page where I keep in connection with the gluten-free community.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Keep writing and seek all the feedback you can get!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“Put your trust in Jesus.” Without His love for me, I would not have been able to complete this book.
What are you reading now?
The Pasta Codex
What’s next for you as a writer?
To finish editing and publishing Life After Gluten (A.G.) Vol. 2: Breads & Meals.
What is your favorite book of all time?
The Bible 🙂
