Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a journalist by day and a writer by night. I am happy to say after two years of waiting I finally published my first book!
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
The Goods Are Odd was inspired by an old saying in Alaska: “The odds are good, but the goods are odd.” As I soon found out, that would describe my experience with online and app dating in Alaska to a tee.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Id say it’s littered with sarcasm and blunt observations. Perfect for the 20 – 30 somethings who are chronically online.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
“Nice is a place in France” was huge for me. The whole time I read it I knew that sarcastic comedy genre was something I could tackle in the future.
What are you working on now?
Right now I’m setting my sights on a documentary….stay tuned!
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I find Instagram is the best!
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write everyday, keep it simple, and be patient!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Don’t worry about how long it will take to finish something, the time is going to pass anyway.
What are you reading now?
Bad Blood, the true story about the rise and fall of Theranos, the multibillion-dollar biotech startup headed by Elizabeth Holmes
What’s next for you as a writer?
I’m a journalist by trade so really I’m writing everyday still!
What is your favorite book of all time?
Ishmael. I cant tell you what it’s about or you wont pick it up. Just trust me.
