Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’m a Macon, GA native, currently in New York City. Along with writing, I am a print model, actress, creator, and web producer. I LOVE to have my hand in many ventures.
I’ve written close to 7 books with four that are currently published. All books are part of the series: the Heartbreak Diaries. These books give a unique account of various relationships and dating scenarios from the perspective of the heart.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is titled The Perfect Sin. It is the fourth installment from the book series, the Heartbreak Diaries. This book touches on the story of a selfish heart.
The inspiration from this story derived from a crush. Given his relationship status at the time, I developed a story based on a “what if”.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I LOVE to act out the dialogue and story as I write. This helps me provide a true description of mannerisms, conversations, and realistic reactions within the story.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I’m getting back into my book reading…and honestly, all independent and self-published authors have influenced me. They take a different approach with their writing as well as go the extra mile in developing great stories.
What are you working on now?
Right now I’m working/promoting the four released books from the series (Rushing to Distraction | Wrong Vengeance | Devastation or Destiny??? | The Perfect Sin). Later this year, I”ll begin the editing process for the fifth book, “Replacements”.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I love promoting via Facebook and Twitter. It’s convenient when setting up future posts for days I’m on the go and can’t get on social media. Also, these platforms provide analytics to help find the best days/times to promote my work. Lastly, joining Facebook groups helps me reach my target audience as well.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Understand the logistics of writing and publishing your book. It’s more than just sitting at your computer and belting out a story. Treat it like a business. Make your stories relatable, create substance, be open and honest. Also, don’t be afraid to introduce new ideas and/or ways of thinking to the public. You’d be surprised at how many like-minded individuals you’ll find that way.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Don’t be so hard on yourself.
What are you reading now?
I just completed a creating and suspenseful book, Over The Borderline by Leanna Floyd.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Taking a break from releasing books until later this year. Promoting my current work and doing my part to introduce my work to the world.
What is your favorite book of all time?
Do You Take This Woman? by RM Johnson This book is my all-time fav within the romantic suspense genre! A timeless classic.
