Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
My passion for writing stems from my addiction for reading. I have many books lined up in my head clamouring to get out. Life is a book in the making, and the more life exposes me to, the more inspired I am to write.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
I haven’t published anything new for a while, but I am promoting the 2025 second editions of Afrish and Coloured Hill.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Writing runs in my veins. Any time of the day or night works well for me. Non-stop for many hours or even for 10 minutes at a time.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
A myriad of everyday items I read has the potential to influence me, whether a book, a newspaper, a magazine….
What are you working on now?
Forthcoming later in 2025 is ‘Other People’s’…. a story set in South Africa. Watch this space!
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
The Internet is such a vast canvas that promoting books there has to be win-win. However, whenever possible I believe that live book readings and presentations wherever possible helps to connect with readers. A personal touch goes a really long way!
Do you have any advice for new authors?
If you believe in yourself, then never give up!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Reading is great exposure for an aspiring author! Regularity and routine matter. It’s a lonely job, but persevere!

What is your favorite book of all time?
I have several. There are always books that imspre. Among my favourite books are Long Walk to Freedom by Nelson Mandela, The Karamazov Brothers and The Idiot by Fyodor Dostoevsky, Dr. Zhivago by Boris Pasternak, The Illegitmate Offspring of Cardinal Guzman and Birds Withour Wings by Louis de Bernieres, The Godfather by Mario Puzo, 1Q84 and Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami…. there are so many books I hold a candle to that it’s impossible to choose just one!
