Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
An octagenarian, children’s books author who has published six Jimmy Crikey stories and a memoir, plus three further children’s stories.
For the first (almost) forty years of our lives, we never strayed more than 4/5 miles from the Cathedral City of Durham. then in the space of a few weeks, we were about to move to South Africa when my company appointed me as UK Sales Manager and moved the family to Sussex. After a decade and a redundancy, we moved to a new career in Hampshire for another decade. there followed a company takeover and a move to Lancashire where we live on the outskirts of a beautiful rural town. The highlight of my writing career to date was the award of the 2023 Gold medal from Global Books for the ADventures of JImmy Crikey: The youngest Ever Witch.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
the Adventure of Jimmy Crikey: Radioactive which I was inspired to write following an imaginary conversation with one of my characters. Jade, the youngest ever Witch, implored me to writer another story to make sure she did not die from the memories of the children who loved her.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I think i am classified as a ‘pantser’ ie I don’t what will end up on paper as the ideas flow from the ether. Sometimes I end up having to dig myself out of self-generated holes.

Enid Blyton, JK Rowling, CS Lewis, Tim Burton and lewis Carroll among others
What are you working on now?
I need a break for ending the sixth in series The adventures of Jimmy Crikey: Radioactive. It’s the post promotion that sucks out the energy”
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
All Author Awesome Gang, Book Goodies, and Book Bub(when I can afford it)
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Develop a thick skin and keep on writing . Youy eill hit brick walls but keep writing
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
The abov – keep writing and never give up.

Another Paterson to be followed by Jeffery Deaver and another Reacher story
What’s next for you as a writer?
A brief rest and then a more adult fantasy.

Wilbur Smith’s when the lion Feeds .
