About Whatever It Takes by June Summers:
What are the odds? Gabe Wakefield is a thief. He is burglarizing the immaculate, suburban home of Dr. Derrick Byrnes, a local podiatrist, and his wife, Denise, when Gabe notices a rank odor coming from a garage closet. Upon opening the door, he discovers an emaciated child clothed only in dirty underwear lying in a fetal position in the midst of filth, excrement, and urine. What should he do? No child should live in such deplorable conditions. Against his better judgement, he kidnaps the child.
WHATEVER IT TAKES is a tense suspense/thriller. Throughout the book, Gabe, a single guy of twenty-five who works as a stocker in a local superstore, is challenged with how to deal with what he has done. He is hell-bent on bringing down the couple who grossly mistreated the child. But how is that possible when he just committed both a felony and a kidnapping?
The book combines suspense with a touch of romance. It is also a story of relationships between individuals, showing how perfect strangers can become like family to one another. There are light, romantic moments in the manuscript contrasted with dark, malevolent deeds. There are deep and heart-felt emotions shown by the characters, giving the reader a thorough understanding of them.

Author Bio:
Some say when you are old, you should be content with what you accomplished in the past and sit back in your rocking chair awaiting your final fate. June disagrees. At the age of seventy-six, her first novel was published. She has had four suspense/thriller novels published: Let Freedom Ring (The Wild Rose Press-2016- co-authored with her daughter, Wendelin Saunders), receiving a five star rating by both Amazon.com readers and The Long and Short Review; Before We Fade Away (The Wild Rose Press-2018 – nominated for the Paranormal Romance Reviewer’s Choice Award in 2018 and receiving a five star rating on Amazon.com and The Long and Short Review), A Conflict of Time (Full Moon Publishing-2018); and Whatever It Takes (Moonshine Cove Publishing, February, 2020- also receiving a five star review on Amazon.com).
Growing up the youngest of ten siblings, she spent her leisure time writing poems and drawing pictures. After graduating from college, she taught art for several years, kindergarten through grade twelve. She also assisted her husband in his accounting practice, and eventually, she became a staff accountant for a local CPA firm. For ten years, she and her older daughter ran a forever home for neglected and abused animals until her daughter passed away from cancer. A few years ago, June moved back to her hometown to spend time with my aging sisters.
