About Wyoming Bones and the Potion of Ever Life
Indiana Jones meets Minecraft in these unofficial thrilling adventures based on the video game sensation.
An adventure series full of ancient tombs, explorations, and challenges against evil-doers with lots of familiar Minecraft references along the way.
Dr. Wyoming Bones, an archeologist and treasure hunter, has recently been cursed into a blocky Skeleton by the evil Dr. Edward Ville, and he’s desperate to find the magic item needed to turn him back into a human.
As he’s fresh off an exploration into an ancient temple to find clues for the treasure, Wyoming is approached by Captain Leila Vangraves of the army of New Block City. They need Wyoming’s help: The feared and fiendish illagers are working for the vile Dr. Ville and are searching for the Potion of Ever Life; having it fall into the wrong hands would be disastrous. Wyoming and the Captain team up on a quest, bringing them to the ancient city of Cubero, full of pyramids, desert buildings, and plenty of mining.
Their journey is rife with avoiding the drowned and creepers, mobs of spiders with red eyes and mouths full of green poison bubbles, crumbling walls, and boobytrapped floors, as they search for clues on the potion’s whereabouts. Will Wyoming find it before Dr. Ville or will he be forced to stay a Skeleton forever?

Author Elden Walseck is a rocket scientist working in a rocket factory in Rocket City (Huntsville), Alabama. Yes, it’s true! But it was his four children who inspired him to pursue penning a book series for chapter and middle-grade readers that they could read together. Wyoming Bones is an Indiana Jones meets Minecraft adventure series full of ancient tombs, explorations, and challenges against evil-doers.
With four kids and a busy home life’s many interruptions , Walseck has become accustomed to finding scraps of time to write in five-to-fifteen-minute intervals. Research for his stories are the best part of his writing process since it involves playing the Minecraft game with his kids and viewing it through the lens of what they find interesting about it and then drawing on that for his writing.
For Elden, writing the Wyoming Bones series has been a family affair between bouncing rough drafts off his kids, discussing themes and characters with his wife, and having his own parents read the final books. What Elden loves most is that the exciting adventures he creates are enjoyed not only by Minecraft fans, but all readers who love a rousing story.
Elden believes a great book is one with plenty of adventure, a dose of humor, and relatable characters. He hopes his young readers come away from his stories feeling as if they were part of an adventure, long after the book is closed, and enjoy some familiar Minecraft tropes along the way.
Elden lives in Alabama with his wife, four kids, two cats, and varying numbers of rabbits and chickens. His Wyoming Bones collection currently has four books in the series.
