Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I’ve lived all over the eastern seaboard of the United States, but eventually decided to put real roots down in the Midwest. My favorite things to do, when I’m not writing, are biking, hiking, singing, playing with my kids, and cuddling up between my furry baby and my absolutely awesome Romeo of a husband (he’s a reformed teddy bear who still pretends he’s a grizzly — well, for what’s ours he is) while I read. I heart love and erotica of all forms is my favorite sub-genre. My second book has just been published!
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest work is titled “House Made of Rivers.” I can’t say that any one thing inspired it. I’ve had certain characters that have lived in my head forever who have been clawing at the walls of my brain, screaming for life. I finally got to a point where I had to let them out. I have struggled with malnutrition and being underweight throughout my life, so Kai (my latest heroine) embodies that part of me.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I write scenes out in my head just before I go to sleep. They seem more vivid to me in that half place between wakefulness and dreams. I don’t know that that’s unusual, though.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
Goodness, where to start with that question? Where erotica is concerned, Lora Leigh, was the absolute most influential author. And, of course, writers like Zane had a heavy hand in influencing my decision to write erotica.
What are you working on now?
My next work is titled “House Made of Dreams.” Now that things have settled back in a sort of normalcy, I hope to have it ready for publication in the next 3 months.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I’m still new at this and still trying to learn from the success of others.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Keep writing!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Keep writing! Haha!
What are you reading now?
On a Naima Simone kick. Trying to read as much of her stuff as I can right now.
What’s next for you as a writer?
Longer form works. “House Made of Rivers” is longer than my first work “House Made of Glass and Stone.” I would like to submit a full length novel soon.
What is your favorite book of all time?
Yet another terrible question! Haha! How to pick? But let’s see, my favorite romance book of all time is “Mackenzie’s Mountain” by Linda Howard. I can’t count how many time I’ve read and reread that book over the years.
